Good conversation. These pod casts are a breathe of fresh air. I always feel like I’m amongst friends listening to them, you guys are an intelligent and fun group. I normally have declared being Black. When I first did the poll to the right last year, “How do you identify yourself regarding race….” I checked Black.

At one time I was just saying I’m American, because Black is a hue and I (we) don’t really connect with native Africans. I can and do enjoy various peoples cultures, but I think Black is what I am. I do like the “Descendant of Slaves” title also. That tells everything I think people should know about Blacks, spells it right out. Almost a true(er) acknowledgment of where we come from.

Nice song at the end of pod cast. Does anyone know the artist and song title?

Nika, I’m so glad you are enjoying the conversations. That song is “Phoenix Rising” from Maxwell’s last album, “Black Summer’s Night”.
