LA EVENTS: Wellington Square Farmers Market Fundraiser

LA Babies, we have a few farmers market options around zip codes 90008, 90043, 90016, and 90018 – and therefore we need to do what we can to keep them going. The Wellington Square Certified Farmers Market sponsored by the Mid Los Angeles Healthy Community Project (501c3 pending) and also sponsored by, The General Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist IRS 501(c)(3)#52-0643036 is holding a fundraiser on the evening of Friday, August 2nd from 7pm-midnight, at a lovely private historic home in our community. Tickets are $29.00 which will include food, drinks and live music.  This is an over 21 years of age event. We will have a bar with specialty mixed cocktails, wine and beer for a modest additional cost.

This is personally, one of my favorite neighborhood markets because of their fresh floral and produce selection – you can’t beat it! Come out this Friday night and show your support so that we can keep this farmers market going! Details are as follows:

This event is LA Baby-specific.

It’s that time of year again! Time to celebrate the holidays with great music provided by our own DJ Vicious Lee, dancing, a whole lot of friends (new and old), and a little charity to benefit our great city.

No Cover All Night

Dress Code:

Ladies: Imagine a fly dress (cocktail or gown), hair done, nails did and a SHINY PAIR OF CONVERSE…(no reason not to dance all night in these LA made classics)

Fellas: Imagine a sport coat, dope shirt (tee or other), jeans and your CLOWNIN’ ASS CONVERSE. Hey you never get to wear them to a club any other time…but the coat makes us ladies not feel over dressed 🙂

This dress code of course is not mandatory but like Halloween you don’t want to be the one not in costume!

Bring a donation for homeless children:
Toys, Canned Goods, Socks (new), toothbrushes, gift cards, etc. If you are feeling extra generous throw your (probably new) converse in the box and really make some kids day.

These donations will benefit the Midnight Mission in Downtown Los Angeles directly helping homeless children.

So come one, come all, and let’s get this party started!!!

Silent For Too Long

With an overabundance of so-so television programming these days, the BI family likes to support independent productions that aid variety to our viewing options. Introducing Silent For Too Long is a story of adversity, heartbreak and triumph. Anna Mason is a young woman pushed in to an abusive relationship by her husband Joe and her mother Martha. Anna endures heartache due to her lecherous husband. Much stress is put on Anna to be perfect and to maintain a life that is hollow on the inside. The stress becomes too much for her and she has a stroke. After this major event in her life Anna decides she is done with living a life that is not meaningful and fulfilling, so she decides to divorce Joe. Because Joe is used to being in control, he takes matters into his own hands, by kidnapping his children and moving them away from their disabled mother. Anna finds the strength from within to fight Joe and recovers her children, becoming strong even in her weakness.

This IndieGoGo campaign will fund the production of 6 webisodes for Silent For Too Long. Written by Dwann Cutler.  Produced by Phenomenal Woman Production(Dwann Cutler and Tiffanie Aiken) in association with We Connected Productions, LLC (Rhonda and Sharee Washington).
