The house band for the hit musical Fela! is playing at the Troubadour in West Hollywood this Friday, January 13th. This event, Fela! On Tour features the Fela! band, members of the Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra and members of the three-time Tony Award winning musical! This event is for all ages. LA EVENTS: Fela! Comes to Los Angeles

I’ve heard from countless folks that this is the “must-see” event of the year.

Direct from Broadway, the musical FELA !  is coming to Los Angeles this month! From December 13 – January 22, FELA ! will be playing at the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

Legendary Nigerian Fela Kuti was a musical dynamo and  a political powder keg who used his supercharged and  sexy Afrobeat sound and charismatic spirit to ignite and  inspire a generation to dare challenge a government of oppression.

FELA ! is both rave and theatrical wonder. Thanks to Fela’s  captivating music and the visionary direction and choreography of Tony Award® winner Bill T. Jones, this tale of courage, passion and  love will shake you: body and soul.

In addition to his Tony Award® for FELA !, Bill T. Jones was celebrated  in 2010 with a Kennedy Center Honor along with Merle Haggard, Jerry Herman, Paul McCartney and Oprah Winfrey.
