One comment on “The Break – Maybe It’s Not For You

  1. Bro. Malcolm says:

    A few things:
    1. Cheryl and Sheryl are pronounced completely different, Tash of all people should know this.

2.Why can’t black artists operate in their own unique individual spaces and not be compared to each other. Do we compare Bowie, Elyon John and Boy George against each other in their artivism? Very frustrating that we as black folks don’t allow the breadth and complexity of the black community to exist on all levels, both Kendrick and Beyoncé and Michael, and Bruno and Prince have individual voices that deserve to be heard.

    3. I immediately saw the symbolism of the day manifested in the SuperBowl propaganda and I loved it!
    A. Coldplay and Their “Love Wins” thematic rainbow performance in the very city that some might say is the epicenter for LGBT culture in SF.
    B. The Black Panther Party started at Merritt College in Oakland CA, let’s give this black woman a lil bit more credit and appreciation for her acknowledgement of a group that J Edgar Hoover deemed the greatest threat to America at one point. Additionally She is married to Jigga he’s no idiot and her Father, although suspect morally is a brilliant business man strategist.

Lastly, many of us are so quick to judge the rich but we practice the very moves they make concerning their lives. Please, if there was ever anyone who turned down a raise, bonus or refused to negotiate a salary for the “betterment of the organization” or sacrificed said monies so that X coworker was not laid off, please chime in now… No, exactly. It’s easy to criticize the wealthy and rich in our culture but we don’t realize we’re all doing in some capacity evacuee we operate within a capitalist framework.

    Good day.
