Culture Connection: Malcolm’s Back!
· June 20, 2013
The Iconic St. Paul's Cathedral. St Paul's Cathedral, London, is a Church of England cathedral and seat of the Bishop of London. Its dedication to Paul the Apostle dates back to the original church on this site, founded in AD 604. Construction started in 1675 and it opened in 1708. 33 years of construction, now that's a long time.
I am standing on the millenium Bridge with St. Pauls Cathedral in the background. Officially known as the London Millennium Footbridge, it is a steel suspension bridge for pedestrians crossing the River Thames in London. The southern end of the bridge is near the Globe Theatre, the Bankside Gallery and Tate Modern, the north end next to the City of London School below St Paul's Cathedral.
